    LASU Students Recreate Ojude Oba Festival …Dazzle In High Fashion, Culture

    LASU students brought culture to life with Ojude LASU festival, dazzling in high fashion, music, and art inspired by the iconic Ojude Oba celebration

    Culture, fashion, music and art were in copious supply at the Lagos State University (LASU) campus in June when the students hosted their annual cultural day celebrations.

    But this year’s edition stood out with what they have dubbed ‘Ojude LASU’, a culture and fashion parade that was inspired by the popular Ojude Oba Festival of Ijebu Ode.

    There may not be the age group parades (regberegbes) as obtained at Ojude Oba, but ‘Ojude LASU’ also showed that a successful cultural brand can be replicated.

    It was a near perfect mimicking of the popular Ojude Oba festival, with hundreds of selected students representing different departments and levels…

    It was a near perfect mimicking of the popular Ojude Oba festival, with hundreds of selected students representing different departments and levels parading in their fashionable attires, showcasing same to university authorities who acted like the royal fathers for the occasion.

    LASU’s Music and Creative Arts departments are well known for top quality and it showed at the Ojude LASU show in the quality of the displays from the students.

    There was high fashion, musical performances, horse riding, cultural displays and obeisance to school authority.
