Two Nollywood films, “Finding Me” and “Love In Every Word,” achieve significant success in Q1 2025, showcasing the industry’s growth
For Q1 of 2025, the Nigerian film industry won’t be complete without mentioning two of the nation’s most versatile, innovative and creative actors cum director-producers, Funke Akindele and Omoni Oboli.
The duo not only produced a people’s or family-oriented movie but they have shattered records upon records in Nollywood.

Omoni Oboli’s latest romantic drama, Love In Every Word, has taken the digital world (most especially YouTube) by storm, amassing an impressive 4.3 million views within just 72 hours of its release on March 7, 2025.
“This success is seen as a significant win for Nollywood, showcasing the power of the Nigerian film industry.”
The film garnered over 2 million views in its first 24 hours alone, cementing Oboli’s status as a trailblazer in leveraging digital platforms for film distribution.
Oboli’s embrace of YouTube as a distribution platform reflects a growing trend among Nollywood producers to reach audiences beyond traditional cinema halls. Her innovative approach has not only expanded her global reach but also demonstrated the potential of digital platforms to amplify African storytelling.
On the other hand, Funke Akindele’s latest blockbuster film, Finding Me, which started streaming on Amazon Prime Video last month, is expected to break grounds just like her 2024 box office hit, Everybody Loves Jenifa, which reached the N1bn threshold in just 19 days and has since raked in more than N1.5bn globally.
Directed by Funke Akindele herself, Finding Me, centres around love, confidence, money, balance and even trouble.
This success is seen as a significant win for Nollywood, showcasing the power of the Nigerian film industry.
This achievement further cements Akindele’s reputation as Nollywood’s most bankable filmmaker.
