Jomiloju Poroye, a 14-year-old Lagos artist with cerebral palsy, inspired audiences at her debut public art exhibition in December 2025
In the heart of Detty December festivities in Lagos, last month December 2025, a special art exhibition held on Lagos mainland without much fanfare but with huge impact to showcase the creative works of a 14-year-old Lagos artist, Jomiloju Poroye (JP).

JP, who lives with cerebral palsy and hearing impairment.
The exhibition, showcased how this talented teenager has steadily grown her interest in painting and illustration.
According to the Communications Manager for the project, Halima Okanlawon, the exhibition was designed to highlight JP’s talent and give the public an opportunity to experience her unique artistic expressions.
Quality guests turned up to support the young artist.
They included the Chairman, Kay Farms Products Limited, Chief Kayode Williams, who was the Father of the Day, while the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, who was represented by a Director from the Ministry, was the Special Guest of Honour.
The event held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at KayFarms Estate, Iju-Ishaga, Lagos.
Earlier in the year, Poroye’s works of arts had attracted the attention of one of the leading television stations in Nigeria, Television Continental (TVC) which did a documentary on her works.

December’s exhibition was her debut public show and was open to members of the public, who marvelled at the range and quality of JO’S works.
