Giving honour to whom honour is due aptly captured that beautiful evening in February 2025 when music from the days of yore took centre stage for many hours.
It was the Night of Tribute in memory of the late architect & music promoter, Aib Igiehon, who passed away in May 2024 in the United States of America.
As part of his final journey home in the land of his birth, it was a full house of musicians and art aficionados from way back who graced the stage, one after the other, to honour the man whose impact was massively felt in the late 80s and 1990s through AIBTONIA Promotions.
From Righteous Man to Alex O, Orits Wiliki, Stella Monye and Yinka Davies, among several others, artiste after artiste mounted the stage to honour the departed.
They must have all had a boost from Aig’s Aibtonia Promotions, a frontline music promotions agency, which he ran together with his wife, Tonia Igiehon, before they both relocated to the US in the 90s.
Mrs Tonia Igiehon also gave a moving tribute in honour of her late husband at the event which clearly demonstrated that Nigerian artistes do support and stand by each other.
