Kayode Peters Lives On in the hearts of fans and peers as Nollywood mourns the passing of a legendary filmmaker whose impact was felt on and off screen
Many Nigerians are yet to come to terms with the sudden death of one of the nation’s finest actors and film producers in Nollywood, Kayode Peters.

Peters reportedly died on Saturday, June 28, 2025, after a prolonged illness in Canada. However, the actual cause of his death was not fully disclosed.
His artistic journey began with Theatre 15 at the University of Lagos. He later transitioned into television, where he produced successful series such as Twilight Zone and Papa Ajasco and Company.
However, he became more popular for his work on the comedy series My Flatmates.
This Africa Magic show entertained many Nigerian homes and inspired a fresh wave of sitcoms in the country.
Beyond his talent, it was his kindness, warmth, and generous spirit that truly defined him.
Peters also contributed to Papa Ajasco & Company, making people laugh with his witty direction and unique style.
In 2015, he produced Doll House, which was well received. Three years later, he went international with Excuse My African in New York City.
KP’s talent was not just in TV shows and stage plays. He directed movies too. In 2021, he worked on Crazy Grannies and Dream Job, both of which showed his versatility.
He’s remembered as a cherished son, husband, father, brother, and friend, as well as a gifted filmmaker, actor, and producer whose work inspired many.
